Student worker - here for you!

Did you know that... student pastor and other parish workers working at the campuses are a part of student well being servives. You may come to talk us about anything, to have a cup of coffee/tea, or to pray together. Our student workers have set hours when they are available at the campus (see below), but you may agree on a meeting also on other times. No matter what is going on in your life at this moment, you can always contact us!


Student worker at the campus

University of Lapland, silent room on Wednesdays from 11am to 2pm. You find the silent room as you cross the main aula, exit next to the library, and take a few steps downhill: you find the entrance right! You can reach Milla the easiest via Whatsapp (p. 040 358 6067).

LUAS (Lapland University of Applied Sciences) Jokiväylä Campus on Thursdays between 11am and 2pm. Student pastor's office is located in room C229, but you find Rainer more likely in the main aula or student restaurant. You may also contact Rainer directly (p. 040 569 6475).

Redu Porokatu Campus on Tuesdays between 10 and 12. Come and have a cup of coffee, play a game together or have a chat! You may also contact Jenni via phone (040 069 0465).

Redu Jokiväylä Campus on (day and time will be updated here soon). Come and have a chat (and possibly drink a cup of coffee). Mari (p. 040 583 2517) also participates to Pajakorva 1 student dorm evenings on Tuesdays from 5 to 7pm (varying program).

Opening Mass of the Academic Year & Blessing of New Students 4th of September at 6pm @Church

Start a new semester leaning on God's blessing! Enjoy the evening snack provided, and climb to the church tower to admire the beautiful city of Rovaniemi.

OMA Base Camp in Norvajärvi 6.-8.9.

Authentic summer camp atmosphere, new people, and God who is so good. <3 Price: 20e for students (others 40e). Sign up in English via e-mail: Include your personal information and dietary restrictions (i.e. food allergies).

Ask, discuss & question at the Alpha course!

Why would I believe? What are the sources of Christianity? Do miracles happen? How would I make most of the rest of my life?

These and several other questions we think about during the Alpha course. For now it is planned that course gathers at the university 10.10.-12.12. on Thursdays between 5 and 7pm (will be confirmed during September). Additionally, you may participate to Alpha Camp that will be arranged at the parish house on 16.-17.11. from 1 to 7pm. You are welcome to join us for a snack and to see what the course is about - even if you were not a university student.

Traditional Living Room event Fri 25th of Oct (yet to be confirmed)

Church student work has organized a Living Room event in cooperation with student union LYY already several times. I.e. in last year's Russian Living Room we got to know Russian culture through different workshops. There were approximately 120 participants during the evening.

This fall the event has been planned for Development Cooperation Week, the prospective date would be 25th of October. Do you want to come to plan the event of Fall 2019 from the scratch? Message Milla, p. 040 358 6067. Event info will be updated during September.
