Norvajärvi Camping and Training Centre

Norvajärvi Camping was built on Farm Kuokkanen’s land area 1960 and first the farm buildings were used for congregation’s camping activities. At the beginning people needed to get there over Norvajärvi lake until the road got ready for the area in 1968.

Camping and Training Center was designed by Matti Turpeinen 1992 and it was an extension building for earlier Camping Center that was built 1974. Besides two class rooms – both for 35 persons – and activity space there is room for 80 guests and dining room for 60 persons. Outdoors you can play volleyball, basketball, and football. There is also beach for swimming, sauna, and Laplander’s hut (tepee-like). Rowing boat, canoos and kayaks can be arranged.

Norvajärvi Cabin with sauna, TV and kitchen is for six persons.

Paaniemi Cottage

Paaniemi Cottage at Paavalniemi was built in 1950 for use of congregations different camps and gatherings for altogether 17 persons. Cottage was built based on Janne Maatela’s drawings and the building timber that donated joint-stock Kemi. Cottage’s sauna extension was built in 1967 and the cottage was electrified during renovation in 1978.
